Chicken Salad...

The very Best Chicken Salad

A good friend of mine, Carol, gave me this recipe, a long time ago. I cannot even remember the amounts she gave me. I normally just dump, but I have tried to measure in order to give you this recipe.

My disclaimer:
I may add more or less of each ingredient. :)

(1) Pkg Frozen Chicken Breast-around 12 small. (4 1/2 cups chopped)
2 cups chopped celery, very fine
2 cups purple grapes, halved
2 cups chopped pecans
(1) Bottle Brianna's Homestyle Poppy Seed Dressing
Boil chicken, cool and chop. In a large mixing bowl, add celery, grapes and pecans. Pour about 1/2- 3/4 bottle of Poppy Seed Dressing, mix and chill.
You may want to add more dressing after chilling. This recipe is great to make the day before.

PS If you want to make Gluten Free-use Maple Grove Farms Fat Free Poppy Seed Dressing. It is a wonderful dressing. It is also fat free. I normally, use half Brianna's and 1/2 Maple Grove Farms.

Today's verses: Ezekiel 1

"Above the expanse over their heads was what looked like a throne of sapphire, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man. I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him. Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him.
This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.

Well, I am now in Ezekiel, whoooo Jeremiah was a tough book for me to read. I have to admit, I did not understand Jeremiah, maybe parts, but wow, I need God to explain that book. :) Ezekiel is fascinating so far. I am no scholar, and I tend to read and picture what I am reading. Just look at the description above, the appearance of the likeness of the GLORY of the Lord. We will all fall facedown, can you even imagine...there is nothing on this earth, that can compare... I sure cannot explain these verses, just sayin'...

New Day...

Today's Verse, Lamentations 3:22-23

"Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

The meaning of compassion is to recognize the sufferings of others and then take action to help.

Notice that the word in Lamentations is "compassions"...God recognizes all of us, all of our problems, all of our hurts, all of our pain, and he starts over every morning. I don't know about you, but that is comforting to me.

I have been thinking about how people live without God in their lives. There are so many different religions, idols, whatever you want to call them, but in John 14:6 it says,

"Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. "

I think that is plain and simple, don't you!

Just give me Jesus! :)

Lauren and I went to Dallas Saturday to surprise my Aunt Ruthye, RuRu, for her birthday. Lauren, Ruthye, Jenna~Wade and I shopped, ate and, fun, times. Lauren and JW are 9 months apart, like twins. The verses above I emailed myself this morning from my quiet time. Today's sermon from Bro. David was "That's not fair, NO, that's GRACE!". Wow, once again, God showed up! In my weaknesses, God's power is made perfect! I can do nothing without God. His purpose, His way only. My prayer- teach me to do your will!

You just never know?...

Today's Verse, read this verse this morning and it reminded me of an encounter,

Hebrews 13:2

"Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it."

Ever met an angel? I think I have. I will never know, but I am sure I will in Heaven. I believe angels live among us. Do you believe ? do do do do...

Just Faith...

As I was studying this morning, God showed up ~ he spoke to me in all I read this morning.
Joyce Meyer in her devotional, wrote,
"But for faith to work, we have to release our faith and the way we release it is to go in obedience. We have to go with our dreams despite all the "what ifs" and the doubts from the enemy. When we make our step, God shows up."
Genesis 12:1

Skipping over to Hebrews 11, reminding you that I am reading through the Bible, and this is no coincidence that I am reading this chapter today. The title of Hebrews 11 is "Faith". With tears streaming down my face this morning, this is how each verse begins,
"By Faith God formed, by faith Abel, by faith Enoch, by faith Noah, by faith Abraham, by faith Issac, by faith Jacob, by faith Joseph, by faith Moses, and on and on. Verse 39, "These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect".
To sum this all up today, I read Psalm 138, no coincidence,
"The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me".
I am absolutely overwhelmed with God's love for me today. Read Psalm 136, over and over and over, God says, "His love endures forever".

My prayer today, is that God lead me, work through me, shine through me. I give it to you, Lord. Amen!

Confident Woman...

A dear friend, business partner, and my mentor, Donna, gave me this book for Christmas. I started the devotionals on January 1. Everyday, Joyce Meyer, is uplifting women, writing about Confidence! Today's verses below,

Proverbs 3:25-26
"Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the LORD will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared. "
He is my confidence!

When reading in Hebrews this morning, this verse sooooo goes along with the devotional above.
Hebrews 10:35
"So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. "

Get behind me, Satan!...

Matthew 16:23
"Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men."

I Thessalonians 5:22 "reject every kind of evil".

If Jesus had to say to Satan, get behind me, good grief, how much more must we have to tell Satan the same. He has been told many times today! My God is in control.
I highly respect Anne Graham Lotz, Billy Graham's daughter. One of her quotes is below,
“When we face an impossible situation, all self-reliance and self-confidence must melt away; we must be totally dependent on Him (Jesus) for the resources.”

Fly away...if I could...

I am writing for myself.

The deceit that has taken place in my life has been going on since August of last year. It affected not only me but my daughter. This person (s) is in my family. I cannot imagine that they can justify what they have done. They cannot admit wrong, but yet it is documented. They have even told me to stop my Christian portrayal, because it is not believable to anyone. Why would anyone say that? Why?

Guess what, only God knows my heart and HE is the ultimate judge.

I know without a doubt, that I am a born again Christian, and I conduct myself in that manner.

Psalm 55: 12-15

"If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it; if a foe were rising against me, I could hide. But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend, with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God, as we walked about among the worshipers. Let death take my enemies by surprise; let them go down alive to the realm of the dead, for evil finds lodging among them. "

Psalm 55: 5-7

"Fear and trembling have beset me; horror has overwhelmed me. I said, “Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. I would flee far away and stay in the desert"

Why are people so deceitful...just tell the truth!


The meaning of "deceit",

The action or practice of deceiving someone by concealing or misrepresenting the truth.

I do not like deceitful people. I cannot even think like deceitful people. Very tired, very sad today.

Live in the light. If you have to hide something, It is wrong. Period!

Refresh yourself...

Today's verse, Proverbs 11:25
"A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

Refresh meaning to make you feel that you have more energy again when tired or hot.

This is exactly how I feel I treat others in my business. Being in the real estate field, often, my clients need to vent or actually they just want to be heard. A lot of times, I feel like I "refresh" others. I make it seem all will be well, and in return, I feel refreshed. I always say live your life by the Golden Rule. Do unto others as you would have them do to you! Not long ago, a client called me with a dilemma. I asked her, "if this was in reverse, what would you want the other person to do?". She immediately said, "well, now that you put it that way, I should do this", which was the right thing to do.

Just do the right thing! I bet she refreshed the other person and in return felt refreshed! :)
