Unworthy...

"Jesus said of John that “ . . . among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist” (Matthew 11:11). That could really puff him up and make him think he was pretty great. But John thought of himself as not even worthy to untie Jesus’ shoes. John didn’t say this in false modesty or humility, he just expressed an accurate assessment of who he was in relation to Christ. He was nothing, and Jesus was everything. We need this perspective as well. Especially when we are about to launch into what’s wrong with somebody else. We’re all pretty worthless compared to Christ. This changes how we approach any truth-telling conversation."
by, Hayden Norris - Senior Pastor - Harvest Gainesville, Florida

I read the above quote from a blog this morning.  I had been pondering about, the more I learn about God and his magnificence, his un-wavering love, the more I feel unworthy...  The more I realize that my "good deeds" are alot of the times "self" imposed.  I don't remember thinking this several years ago.  I think the more I read the Bible,  and pray, the closer I feel to God and him talking to me in everything I do.  Unworthy, yes... forgiven, yes...
I wrote in my Bible, my statement of faith, Jesus is the ONLY way...

Have a fun day y'all...
If you want me to pray for you, just comment below! :)

Be prepared, Congress needs to take Action...

I read this article to my office today, Congress can make a difference,
This Economist is right on target just about everytime...

"COLLEGE STATION (Real Estate Center) July 2012 – Not only does Real Estate Center Chief Economist Mark Dotzour see a fiscal cliff in America's future, he knows when the economy will plunge over it.
In a podcast Friday with CCIM, Dotzour said Jan. 1, 2013, is the day "bad economic events" will be triggered with negative impact on the U.S. economy. These include higher income, capital gains, dividend and estate tax rates. The first day of the new year also marks the end of certain payroll tax deductions and the beginning of cuts in government spending.
Dotzour said that unless Congress takes action to alter the nation's economic course, he expects the country to fall into recession in the first half of 2013.
For commercial real estate, that means most economic activity will occur before Labor Day. He expects U.S. growth to be "very quiet" as 2012 comes to an end."

Hamburger Surprise...

Hamburger Surprise, one of my family's favorites!

Tear Foil Pieces long enough for a pile of uncooked food, long enough to fold to the center.

1 lb. uncooked ground beef
Potatoes
Canned long green beans
Carrots
Squash
Bell Pepper
Onion

I divide 1 lb  uncooked ground beef among 3 foil pieces.  Roll beef in small balls.
Peel and cut potatoes in bite size chunks, layer on top of beef.  Drain a can of long green beans and place on top of the potatoes.  Layer a few carrots, onion, bell pepper, squash on top of the green beans.  I use whatever I have available.  Place a slice of bacon and a dot of butter on the finished layers.  In between layers, I sprinkle with pepper, seasoning salt, and garlic chips.
You cannot go wrong, just layer and bake.
I fold each end of the foil together and seal, then roll both sides to seal.
Bake at 350-375 for 1 hours.

To serve, open foil packets and scrunch.  Plate foil packet on a plate, serve with ketchup.
Big and small kids love this!

Wisdom and Knowledge...

II Chronicles 1:10-12
"Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”
God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, riches or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king,  therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, riches and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.

I read these verses this morning.  As I was sitting at the table today, I felt compelled to tell my 8 partners these verses as we began our annual partner meeting.  Cornerstone Brokerage's name comes from a "foundational" and "spiritual" belief.  If there is anything I ask for each and every day, that would be "wisdom and discretion".  Look how God blessed Solomon!  He was the wisest man on Earth, and the most wealthy.

I am in partnership with 8 wonderful people.  I am so pleased that we can gather together annually and on a daily basis.  You know you are in a great place when you can begin your meeting with a prayer!  I love my business, my clients, and I truly believe God has me in the place that was picked exactly for me!  Another perfect day!

Hot Summer Days...

My nephew and nieces are here from California.  I have not seen them in a year!  Such fun for Layton to play with his cousins.  From the left, Layton, Rylee, Skye and Kennedi...

Layton's pet frog!  He found him by the pool!

Again, Layton, Rylee, Kennedi and Skye...

This little frog was Layton's pet for the day.  He arranged the grass and rocks so carefully.  Don't you love how God made this tiny little creature.  Even little kids realize the uniqueness of this litte guy.  By the end of the day, all the kids wanted one...  but, we did set him free... poor little frog!  He was tired!

Myth about 3.8% tax...

Myth about 3.8% tax on all real estate sales will not die, Texas Association of Realtors,

A false rumor about a transfer tax on all real estate sales is once again making the rounds on the Internet and in emails. The information being forwarded claims that the Affordable Care Act contains a 3.8% tax on all real estate sales. Not so.
Though the act does include a 3.8% tax on some investment income, it will not come into play for the majority of home sales. First, the tax applies only to people with adjusted gross income of $200,000 ($250,000 for a joint return). Also, homeowners who sell their principal residence will still enjoy the exclusion of $250,000 of gain realized on the sale of the home ($500,000 for married couples).
