Dog Ears...

Layton had to have one in each hand!
He ate way too many, I think!

Okay, I know my pictures are blurry, but I was in a hurry... (ha I just rhymed) trying to cook breakfast and watch Layton, along with trying to get him to smile. :) I use to make these for Lauren while she was growing up... Another one of those "foods of gods"... fattening...but ohhhh soooooo mmm!
Recipe for Dog Ears (I do not know where the name came from) :)
Vegetable oil
Can of biscuits (inexpensive ones)
Powdered sugar
Heat oil on medium heat. Cut each biscuit into fourths. Drop in oil until lightly browned. Drain on paper towels. Immediately transfer to bowl and cover with powdered sugar. Eat while hot, they go fast!

9...1...1...

And, we remember today, the families and victims... I know we all remember exactly where we were (8:46 am) when the first plane struck the twin towers. I was on jury duty downtown. May we all stop and PRAY (not just have a moment of silence) for our country and our leaders.
We will never forget...
II Chronicles 7:14
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

Pair of Heels...

I read this today on my sassy calendar, made me laugh,

"A great pair of heels can't solve everything - but they do lift you a teensy bit closer to God."

I always say that I was born in heels... love a great pair of heels, right Princess Fiona (Jennie)and Kelly?

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies...

LuLu, check this out! No flour... might work for you!

Flourless Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup sugar (I used 1/2 cup brown sugar & 1/2 cup white sugar)
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup chocolate chips (I used semi-sweet)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray 2 cookie sheets with cooking spray.
Mix the peanut butter and sugar together until creamy and smooth.
Add in the egg and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
Stir in the salt, baking soda, and chocolate chips.
Spoon dough into balls, about 1 Tablespoon of dough for each cookie. Place them on the cookie sheets, about 2 inches apart.
Smash with a fork and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Let them sit on the cookie sheet for a couple of minutes. Move to a wire rack and cool. Make sure you don't over bake. They will set up and you want them to be soft. Recipe by Real Mom Kitchen.

Avenue of Dreams...

This is a picture of a painting by Debbie Warnock. This painting's name is "Avenue of Dreams". Encouraging words join the little bluebird with red shoes along his path everywhere.

I work with many different people everyday, achieving their American dream of home ownership.

Straight Paths...

Proverbs 3: 5-6

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
Well I suppose this is the verse for me. Last night on Facebook I did one of those stupid quizzes that I never do, but it was about the bible, soooo I took the quiz. This was my verse that described me, and then this morning, I was reading a devotional and "bam", it was this verse again. You know I am a type "A" personality and I like order, organization and a plan, but look at the second part of this verse, "lean not on your own understanding". Hmmmm, guess I need to re-think my day and TRUST the Lord with all my heart... The writer of the devotional talked about how we get from Plan A to Plan B, trusting in God is the most direct route and when our faith falters we may choose a twisted path, eventually getting us to the destination, but with a loss of time and energy. As for me today, I will repeatedly say " I trust you Jesus"...

LaLa's...

That's me, but it should say LaLa...

Persevere...

Hebrews 10: 35-39

"So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a very little while, "He who is coming will come and will not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him." But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved."

Whewww...I saved this verse on Saturday morning, so that I could write about it later. Little did I know that today I needed it more than Saturday. I, surely, need to persevere, I am living by faith, God knows that! You know, life is hard. I know I am not the only one struggling, we are all dealing with "life". 2009 has been a tough one, but, by God's grace I will make it through another day. I will not "shrink" back, if there is anyone that I want to be pleased with me, it is my God, father God.

I am Chosen...indeed...

I cannot find the exact picture I am looking for, but when I pray, I always think of God looking at the earth, and I am in awe, that he created and picked me. Just think about the astronauts as they look at the earth from space. Just a dot in space. I just cannot fathom God's mind. We are microscopic in comparison to HIM, and yet he died on the Cross for each one of us, and rose again and lives today. He has Everything under control. The verses below, I love!

John 15:16
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name."

Most delightful day...

The picture above is, Bruce and Pam Harris. I had the privilege to meet and show these fine people East Texas all day Friday. I have to say, I had the most peaceful and delightful day. Hopefully, we will be able to find them their retirement dream, either way, I am so happy that I have met them. My spirit and their spirit witnessed. Thank you Bruce and Pam for lunch and a fun day. I look forward to many more times together. New friends, indeed.

Foreclosures...

I am attending a Foreclosure seminar this afternoon. Wow, what a day...this seminar was fast paced and so much information. In the months to come, I just believe I will visit the courthouse steps and just view this foreclosure process. There is so much more to Real Estate, than the average person knows or understands. As I learn, I will post.
Did you know, that a property is usually in payment default for 8 months before it is foreclosed on? Amazing...

Weak vs Strong...

II Corinthians 12:9-11

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

There are a lot of people facing difficulties and hardships. I find strength in these verses. Today I want to slow down, and let God work through several circumstances that I a praying about. I shall surely remember, "for when I am weak, then I am strong.
