Surprise ?...

This "pigeon" is sitting in the tree for Layton, let's see how long it takes for him to notice!

These are the cutest books and for his age group. A lady that works at Barnes and Noble, said the kids love story time when she reads this book .... short words and animated enough for me to get Layton going. "don't let the pigeon drive the bus!" :)

8 days till Christmas...Unusual tree # 8...

This unusual tree #8 is for you JB... I think you should do this! :) or better yet, tell Marion the Librarian...

10 days till Christmas...Unusual tree #10...

In a quest to find "weird, unusual Christmas Trees", here is Number 10... pretty ingenious though...

Just one...

I let this munchkin open one present... it was the "Casper" movie. He loves scary movies...or so he thinks. He knows "just one" , but he also knows I am a pushover!
This look is him saying "cheese", hence the smile, hehe...

Down on the right, you will see a wreath he made at school, he was so proud of it when he ran in the house this afternoon... :) I bet I keep it for years, what do you think Lauren? :)
This child is absolutely my heart!

Fierce Winds...

Today's verse, Matthew 7:25
"The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock."

I cannot even explain how much the wind is blowing at my house right now. I tried to capture it in my camera. Look at the flag and the metal Christmas trees-they are leaning!
I liken my life, the experiences, the trying times and troubles, to the wind. Let the wind blow, because I know my foundation is built on my everlasting God. Did you know in Psalm 113:5-6, which I read the other day- which is still on my mind, it says,
"Who is like the LORD our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?"
God is looking, he is watching, he knows every thought, every way, he knows if we are for Him, or against Him, he knows what is hidden, and what is forthright and he knows we will all bow to him one day ... I surely, hope He is pleased with me...

Laughter...

Today's Verse, Genesis 21:6

"Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.” And she added, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children?

Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.”

I love this passage. I can relate to these verses, not in child birth, but faith. In 2002, I had life altering events, I can remember the "low", at the bottom. I think I cried everyday, but all in all, my faith brought me through and to the other side. Little did I know, 8 years later, I would be where I am today. God has brought me laughter... real laughter, joy...

Jason and Lorri, starting the game...

Jason, Lorri and Beth Guinn...

Jason reading the Christmas game...everyone stood in a circle, eight people had gifts, the others had a candy cane. Jason read a story, and you had to pass what was in your hand, to the right, to the left, whichever Jason read, and when the story was finished, you kept what was in your hand. Fun Game!

The game, passing gifts...

Don Stanley, Chris Phillips and his wife and John Owen's back...

Charlotte Owen and Brandy Sawyer...

My piece of Heaven...

I had this lil' toot this afternoon. He fell asleep on the way home around 4... usually, he wakes up when I get him out of the car, but today, he kept sleeping...I rocked him for two hours, and still had to wake him...
This is my piece of Heaven. Absolutely, the best! He rubbed my arm and told me he loved me all day...sweet boy!
My focus since early this morning has been on Genesis 28:16-17
“Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was not aware of it.” He was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place!"
I am really trying to think about God being all around me. Well, today this had to be a little of how it will feel being with God. Just think how much I care for Layton, I know God cares for me even more! I am truly blessed!
