Chocolate is the Food of Gods, right?

It is 3:00 and of course, I am looking for the chocolate......Just ate a Mounds, had a Diet coke with it though. I brought these brownies to work yesterday. Bare with me on the photography, I am new to this......
I had a whole tray, every other one had either a orange or green M & M on top......representing the colors of Cornerstone Brokerage...... do you think that anyone got it? No, they did not have a clue........what the heck?

Food for Thought!

Live Today as if, Jesus died on the Cross yesterday, Rose this morning, and is Coming back again tomorrow.......I love that!

Big Man and Little Man :)

Two of my favorite guys. Big man, Jason (Boo Boo), and Little man, Layton. By the way Jason's name (Boo Boo) comes from "hey, hey, hey Boo Boo"....he does a great impression.

This picture was taken about a month ago at Green Acres Baptist Church. A man by the name of Doug Menuez, took this picture. (I later learned that the photographer was doing a shoot for a new magazine to be published by Rick Warren's Saddleback Church. I believe the magazine is called the Purpose Driven Connection. Our pastor, Dr. David Dykes, and our church was having a project called Hope for 100 (families who were trying to adopt orphans).

This picture did not make the cut for the magazine ......as if........

Wonder what CRS means?

Ever wonder why Real Estate agents use designations behind their names? It is a good thing......designations, require education. If you see letters behind your Realtor's name, they have spent time and money.

CRS stands for Certified Residential Specialist. To earn this designation, you must attend many hours of education related to marketing, technology, and finance. You must also achieve high volume sales within a specified period. CRS also must maintain membership with the National Association of Realtors (NAR). Did you know only 4% of all Realtors have earned this designation, and I am one of them.......proud to be one.

I am the Treasurer of the Lone Star CRS East Texas Chapter. I just finished lunch today at Hollytree Country Club for our quarterly meeting. At our meeting today, Barbara Holley, with the City of Tyler's Planning and Zoning spoke. As Real Estate Professionals, we continually seek the knowledge of members in our community.

One more Fact - Did you know that all real estate agents are not REALTORS .......only agents that are members of the National Association of Realtors are allowed to use the term REALTORS. Remember to ask this question.........

Marshmallow Mermaid Pie

If you are wondering where this came from, well, okay, I love to bake, and I love the movie, "The Waitress" starring Keri Russell. Last Saturday, Lauren sent me a text , "have you seen The Waitress?", and at that same time I was watching this movie. During the whole movie, all I wanted to do was make a Pie....and name it! I am so twisted.
If you have never seen the movie, you need to go and rent it. The main character works as a waitress, duh, and is in a dysfunctional/abusive marriage. She finds out she is pregnant, and she believes this is the worst thing that can happen to her. She just wants to run away and bake pies.
She has all sorts of names for pies. A few of her pie names are, "Marshmallow Mermaid Pie", "Fallin in Love Chocolate Mousse Pie", "I don't want Earl's Baby Pie", "Baby Screamin' Its Head Off In The Middle of the Night & Ruinin' My Life Pie" and "I Can't Have No Affair Because It's Wrong & I Don't Want Earl to Kill Me Pie".....ha! So hilarious.
But, at the end of the movie, she has this baby girl. And, this baby girl changes her life. She leaves Earl, and she and baby girl open up a pie shop. They live Happily Ever After.......
Which leads me to this: Lauren, my baby girl, now a grown woman, changed my life forever when she was born. You have taken my love for baking and you still love marshmallows. YUM! You are a delight to me. The following is the song that she sings to her baby girl and here I sing it to you,
"Baby don't you cry, gonna make a pie, gonna make a pie with a heart in the middle. Baby don't be blue, gonna make for you, gonna make a pie with a heart in the middle. Gonna make a pie from heaven above, gonna be filled with strawberry love. Baby don't you cry, gonna make a pie, and hold you forever in the middle of my heart. " ****Momma****

My love for Real Estate

I have been a Texas Realtor since 2003. I absolutely love my job. There is no greater pleasure, than to know you have helped someone achieve the American Dream-owning their own home.

Most people do not understand how I, as a Texas Realtor work. I am on call 24/7. I do not have time off, without, constantly, thinking about where my next client will come from. I am self-employed and I abide by a Code of Ethics. Being self-employed means no one pays for anything that I do in business. I incur expenses in advance, to work for the home buyer or seller, knowing that in return, I will be compensated as a result of my client completing a transaction. So, whether I am in the office or out shopping, I am making relationships, I am meeting people. My business, is all about relationships.

My job is to educate the client, but, my job also, is to stay educated. I will bring facts to you concerning Real Estate and how it relates to us as homeowners. Our economy is ever changing. I am optimistic that we will see a turn around real soon.

According to the Real Estate Center at Texas A & M, "Today, buyers are more likely to bid because they perceive the market as at or near its bottom. An April Gallup Poll reported that 71 percent of Americans thought it was a good time to buy a house."
Just a little tidbit....I have had this license plate "Lorri L" since I was a teenager....so, if you see this license plate around, you know it is ME.

Layton's LaLa

To say the least, today was a great day! Layton is my one year old grandson. He is like fur is to a kitty cat......warm, cuddly and just wants your undivided attention. Today he was needy, and guess what, I was there for him. What memories I have on days like today! Cannot wait for more!

Margarita Cake

Well, what can I say, but YUM. If you would like the recipe, go to http://www.bettycrocker.com/ and key in Margarita Cake. Easy to make. I substituted, lemonade, for the margarita mix. Finger licking good!

Intrigued?

May 2009,
I am forever trying to keep up with all of the Real Estate "trends", gadgets and technology along with being everything to everyone. So, in an effort to combine my love for Real Estate, grandchildren, family, quick dinners and just being Super Woman, I am going to try and BLOG.

Of course, when I decided to BLOG, I first had to create an account, (just another website to maintain...ugh) and on top of that I had to create a name for this BLOG...... And to my surprise, all names I could think of, were not available. I bet you are wondering how I came up with the name "She Wood Time".

I laugh when I think of "She Wood". My grandmother, deceased, married for umpteen years, mother to 10 children, was to say the least a strong, out spoken, self sufficient woman. Whenever she needed firewood and no one and no cut wood was available, she would bring in a tree limb.........or whatever she could find.......hence the term, "She Wood" (the wood, she would bring in) and I might add, she would put as much of the limb in the fire as she could and leave the rest laying out on the den wood floor until she could push more of the limb into the fire........Me and my mother still laugh when we run out of firewood and we see limbs or uncut wood......So, as you can see the "She Wood Time", BLOG name was available.

This BLOG will be a combination of what I love most, Real Estate, Family, Cooking, Gardening, Interior Decorating, Beaches/Pool, Grand babies and such. As Women, we must manage many things in our daily lives. I do love my work in helping others find their dream home or selling their property in an effort to move on. But, I am also a daughter, mother, friend, and grandmother. I hope you enjoy a little about my life.......may be boring to some, but it is my "life".
