I am away on Mother's Day and I miss my momma...
My favorite thing about my mother besides her love for God and my daddy is her laughter and giggle ... Do you know your momma's giggle?, I do... It makes me happy. I love you Mother, even though I am miles away I am thinking about you constantly... Happy Mother's Day!

By the way mother, I walked in a Whole Foods in DC and saw these tulips... Thought of you ! Beautiful! :)

Layton's First airplane ride...

I am in Washington, DC for work... Layton and Lauren are flying to DC for a few days of fun... Layton's first trip... She said everyone loved his reactions!

Layton's Chapel time...

I went to Layton's chapel service at school yesterday. I brought lunch, McDonald's, because the parents and grandparents could eat with them outside after the program. I noticed as the parents came in, one by one, each had cups, McDonald sacks... I had my little happy meal tucked away in this little green cooler hoping nothing would get cold or spill. As I looked around, I noticed the older ones, grandparents had coolers and all the younger had all their garb... I think I definitely showed my age... But it looked good... Just sayin'...

Patient?...

I read this in an email this morning, it surely caught my attention. By far, patience is very challenging for me ...
Just dealing, dealing, dealing with people... ponder...

I surely know doors, I
love doors, I wait at doors... As a Realtor, my life starts at doors.... Some are inviting, some are intriguing, some are challenging, some are scarey (like the one a cat attacked me at the other day). But nevertheless, I have a mental picture in my head when I read this verse. We are blessed if we listen, watch and wait for God... seeking Him. And by the way the verse says "watching daily at my doors not door ... If you seek Him, you will find Him... Ponder... I am...

Fresh Banana Cake...

I reposted this recipe with a new pic...
I love this recipe, my daddy loves it too! I had 3 banana's that were just right...

Fresh Banana Cake

2 cups sugar

1 stick butter (I soften in microwave)

1/2 cup applesauce

2 eggs

2 1/4 cup flour

1 t soda

1/4 t salt

1/2 t baking powder

1/2 cup milk

1 t vanilla

3 medium bananas-mashed

3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Mix all together, pour in a bundt or a 13 x 9 pan. Bake at 325 for 45 min - 1 hour (closer to 1 hour-check with toothpick, when it comes out clean, take out).

Cool in pan 10 minutes, invert on serving plate.

Icing

3 T butter-soften in microwave

2 t flour

1 t vanilla

1 cup powdered sugar

2 T milk

I use a 2 cup Pyrex measuring cup, soften butter, add other ingredients and whisk together.

Pour on cooled cake, top with chopped nuts for presentation :)

Cow patties...

Cow Patties, fudgey goodness !

2 cups sugar
1 stick butter
4 T cocoa
1/2 milk

Combine all four ingredients in a saucepan. Cook on medium heat until bubbly. Continue to cook 2 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in,

1/4 cup peanut butter
1 t vanilla
2.5-3 cups oatmeal

Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper.
