Temperatmental to say the least...

Of course, this pic is not Layton, but this is how we feel right now...I have forgotten how temperamental and bossy little 2 year olds can be. To say the least, he can flat tell you how he feels, and it is not good right now. Even his LaLa (me) wants to scream...lol This to will pass, and I know that, so Lauren hang in there... he is a sweet angel baby...even tho'...dot dot dot...

New business...Ganache...

You know I hear about cupcake stores in other cities, but now we are going to have one here in Tyler. It will be opening soon, on Old Bullard Road. The name is "Ganache" the ultimate cupcake. I read about the new business in todays' paper... Can't wait to visit! The picture above, I googled. I have no idea what this new store will look like, but I can imagine...

Prayer Heals...

2 Kings 20:1-6

"In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover."
Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD, "Remember, O LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the LORD came to him: "Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people, 'This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the LORD. I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David.' "

I thought about Lindsey Pond today as I read these verses of healing. God does hear our prayers and he does heal. If you have never visited or read Lindsey's blog, just click on the link below. She is 26, newly married, and has cancer. You may have to read way back to get her story, but it is amazing. She goes to Green Acres Baptist, she is truly an inspiration. To God be all the Glory!

So think it will Snow?

Thankful...

Colossians 4:2

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."

Indeed, (I hear my Gran saying that word) I am thankful...I know I fail miserably in praying, seems I pray alot during the day, and I admit it is selfish most of the time. I do try to be thankful in a lot of situations, but especially TODAY, I am thankful, even in the midst of troubles, just plain inconveniences...

I am so thankful for knowledge, for friends, for family, business partners...for without everyone in my life, today, circumstances would have been even harder. You know my circumstances, are just that, "circumstances", no one is ill, I am blessed!
So, to end this post, I say, "Devil get behind me, move on...it is not working". If God is for ME, who can be against me. "Surely"

Freon vs Puron?

This post is mostly for me to remember what I know and think I understand about this whole FREON vs PURON on A/C units. This will cross my paths frequently in my real estate career in the next few years.

Today, our compressor at home went out. Failed, blew up, Gone...it is only 7 years old. UGH!

Called out Coy Dodd Air Conditioning -verdict, fix the compressor for $1885-1 yr warranty, or replace with a Freon new compressor for $2934 with a 10 yr warranty. We are purchasing!

If you do not know yet, as of January 2010, FREON R-22 units are no longer being manufactured. (You can no longer get any Carrier or American Stanadard units). The new PURON units will be available. Lucky me, there are still a few FREON R-22 units available, but due to supply and demand the price has gone up.

Since we can purchase the FREON R-22 unit for the outside compressor unit, the inside air handler-blower unit will work fine. If in the next 10 years (Jan 1, 2020 Freon will not be manufactured) our inside air handler-blower unit fails, a new PURON air handler-blower unit will adapt via a valve with the FREON compressor outside.

Confused yet? Well, here is the kicker. If time goes on and your compressor -outside fails, and your have to purchase the new PURON unit, the inside air handler/blower-Freon will not work with the PURON compressor. So in that event, you will have to purchase both units. Costly!

So, in this case, I am Thankful that my outside unit went out first, and that there are FREON units still available. I asked Jason how fun was that $3000 we spent today!

Hey Y'all, you better start saving, because this is another government clean air cost for alot of us! Get ready and be prepared! Your time will come...hehehe...

I stand to be corrected on any of this information-my disclaimer. I am sure I will be learning more and especially this week as I go through the process.

Time in your hands...

Verse today... This verse means a lot to me - because God knows my hurts and disappointments that are directly in my life today,

Psalm 31: 12, 14-15

"I am forgotten by them as though I were dead; I have become like broken pottery.
But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, "You are my God." My times are in your hands; "

Attached are three of the pictures from the awards ceremony Friday before last. This award is called the "Dorothy Fay & Jack White Endowed Chair for Teaching Excellence." It is given based on nominations from fellow faculty members and includes a rather lengthy process of documentation, student evaluations of the professor, letters of recommendation, both in-class & out of class activities that go above & beyond the normal classroom requirements.

I am so proud of him...pictured above is Dr. Mike Metke, TJC college president, presenting the award to Jason!
Okay, this is Jason and I after he received the award. Jason made all the women cry because he choked up after the award and could not speak. It is not very often, that this man is speechless. Nevertheless, I do not like this picture of me, but it is what it is! Get over it, huh... I was there! :)
