Cute-ness,

A Realtor friend of mine and her girls made these cupcakes.......she sent me the picture.
Clever and Cute.....

Word of the Day......

I believe most people do not understand the difference between Average and Median. So here goes -- another Real Estate lesson:
The average (or mean) is the sum of the values of all the observations, divided by the number of observations. It is the average value.

The median is the value at which 50% of the observations lie above, and 50% lie below.
Example: You have a list of numbers,
100 + 110 + 130 + 150 + 200 + 225 + 250 + 325 + 500 = 1990 / 9 (numbers) = 221
221 is the Average
200 is the Median

Glad you know the difference now?

Yea it was Red.......

Well, I made a Red Velvet Cake for work this week. I also made a new buttercream icing, that I was not happy with, but by the time I re-created it, it tasted Great!
The new buttercream icing, consisted of, 2 sticks of butter, (yes 2), 1 jar of marshmallow creme, powdered sugar and vanilla. I was not loving the taste, so instead of throwing it down the drain, I added one brick of cream cheese and more powdered sugar.
Yes, it was good, how could it not be.......omg, it was fattening. Oh well.......

Tyler, a Great Place to Live!

Greater Tyler Association of Realtors had a their monthy meeting today at Hollytree Country Club. Great Meeting. Barbara Bass, Tyler's mayor spoke.
Did you know:
  • Grande Blvd extension to Paluxy may be open in July 2009.
  • Rose Rudman Trail has been extended to Rieck Road then South to Grande, tunnel access under South Broadway and extends to Old Jacksonville. Can you believe? Walk it.....and tell me about it.
  • Reserve base will be built across from where Kelly/Goodyear use to be on Hwy 31. 800 Reservist will be in Tyler at least two times a month, which will bring business to Tyler.
  • New VA Hospital will be constructed close to UT Health Center.
  • Plans to extend North Broadway to I-20, construction of housing and commercial. Tyler needs to be visible from I-20.
  • Approved funds to continue Loop 49 from Hwy 155 - I-20. Within 5 years, it is projected that you will be able to travel from Hwy 110 Whitehouse to I-20.
Pretty interesting. Tyler is still a great place to live.

This is sweet Delaney.......I am listing their house in Bullard. She is the baby of the family, and she knows that picture taking is for her. So precious and innocent! Don't you just wish that you could walk up to someone and say "take one of me, of me?"......

Layton's First Time in the Pool!

This is the day I have been waiting for since we built the pool ....... the day I would be swimming with my grandbabies. Layton's first time in the pool, well last year we put him in the pool for a second, but he was too little.....brand new baby at that point.
Today, he absolutely loved it. The pool is still a little cool, his little teeth chattered at the end, but he was still loving it. Look at that white belly, above......ha!

Day to Remember

Memorial Day, May 25, 2009. I believe we all forget what Memorial Day is all about. It seems we all get excited about one more day off from work.

Just a few words to remind us of the meaning behind this important day. Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service.

Today, I give "thanks" for everyone who has served our Country........and also, for the ones, serving our Country TODAY! God Bless America!!!!

SPLASH.....

At church today, Pastor David Dykes, conveyed a great acronym..... S P L A S H, "Show people Love and show HIM". (Of course, when I thought about blogging the acronym, the splash had to include food, ha!)

My prayer each day, is for God to put me exactly where I am suppose to be and that when I walk in a room, people can just breathe and know that I have accepted Jesus as my Savior and that there is something different about me.

We all get so busy with life, what a different world this would be if we would just slow down and Love one another. I am preaching to myself right now...........

Can you believe?

Today, Lauren, found a prize in her cereal.....a $25 gift card.....can you believe? Remember, when we were kids, we all dug around in the cereal for the Prize. I guess I will start looking through the cereal now. And, I hope we are not the only ones that still eat Lucky Charms. :)

So me....

If I have a granddaughter one day, I just think I will have to create a room setting that looks like this picture. This picture makes me reminisce and miss Lauren being at home. It seems we were always changing her room color. She was all girl and all pink.
I deal with clients all the time that will not paint a room because, it may not go with the house. Take it from me, paint the room and have fun with your kids. They grow up way too fast. :)

Venus, purrrrrrh....

I was taking pictures yesterday at a house and their cat, "Venus" just sprawled out for the picture. So funny.....it was like she knew I was taking pictures. Sometimes, we just have to stop our busy lives, and laugh!

I scream for Ice Cream!

This is my all time favorite on ice cream sandwiches. I am always looking for low-fat, low calorie desserts, since I live for sweets. If you have not tired these, just run out and get you a box......I have already had one tonight, but man, I may have to have another..... yUm....

It's just a Man on a Horse Baby Girl.....

I have posted this picture of my daddy riding his horse.....Everytime I look at this picture I think about the movie "Something to Talk About", with Julia Roberts.
There is a famous quote in the movie, you may remember it......"It's just a man on a Horse Baby Girl, nothing more than a man on a horse". I am sure my mother just loves seeing my daddy on his horse. Settle down Mother........

Married "49" years on July 9th, and, they are still so much "in love".......ahhhhh!

Aren't they just cute as pie.......which reminds me, I need to name this blog post a pie, right mother? Here goes, "I just love that man on a horse, glad I married him, and don't want to live without him" PIE. I think this pie would be made with chocolate and lots of meringue.

If you do not understand all of this pie stuff, read the blog post below entitled "Marshmallow Mermaid Pie".

This picture was taken on Mother's Day.
Love y'all,

Lemons, Limes, Whatever.....

Some days do not turn out the way you expect........I started out my day this morning, at 5:15 am. Hit the pavement for my 3 mile walk with Melody, my friend. A few minutes into the walk and BAM, thunder and lightning. So, we returned home. I laid down on the couch, and of course, that makes you feel worse, an hour later. Resumed, my daily routine, and THEN, my appointment at 10 am, failed to show. What does one do then, *** I went shopping and to lunch with my mother and Lauren***........I am only human, right....
I came across this picture today.....this makes me happy.....bright, colorful, and I am sure it taste fabulous!

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade....right.......or margarita's.

Oops - FHA mistake?

Seems HUD rescinded their mortgagee letter (ML 9-15) and it is now nowhere to be found.

"Monetize"

Today's Real Estate Word is "Monetize".....which means, "Converting something into money."

First Time Homebuyers.......listen......

"Shaun Donovan, secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, said that the Federal Housing Administration is going to permit its lenders to allow homeowners to use the $8,000 tax credit as a downpayment.
Secretary Donovan said that important changes, which the National Association of Realtors® has been calling for, will help consumers purchase a home. “We all want to enable FHA consumers to access the home buyer tax credit funds when they close on their home loans so that the cash can be used as a downpayment,” Donovan said. According to Donovan, the FHA’s approved lenders will be permitted to “monetize” the tax credit through short-term bridge loans. This will allow eligible home buyers to access the funds immediately at the closing table."
Exciting news for First Time Homebuyer's.........

HP causes munching......

Well, I am telling you, when I decided to buy a new laptop yesterday, I had forgotten how long it takes to transfer everything from one computer to the next. My old laptop has bit the dust, R.I.P., see ya later alligator........Went to Best Buy and bought a HP G60-235DX Notebook PC. 16" inch screen. Wow! oohhh... (did you know wow upside down is mom?) ---you can tell I am tired.

Besides my brain being fried.......my legs asleep from sitting on the bar stool, my appetite is off the charts. These are the times they talk about when discussing, "stress" eating. I started off last night eating chips, today it is pizza, at least, it was "Lean Cuisine". I am moving now to the chocolate chips. ummmm.
What did you ask me the other day Ruthye? Can I buy maternity shorts so I can be comfortable?......that is a thought!

My Mother...

Me, Mother, Daddy, Dustin, and Lauren, (Jason taking picture) sorry Jason.

My brother Lance, Luke, Lance Jr., Kim and Layci

My sister, Layni, Chad, Skye, Kennedi, and Rylee

Mother and Latte-she may love her more than me!

Jason and Layton, cannot forget these two guys!

So there you go, the offspring of my mother..........

My mother, is the Cornerstone of our family. There are many things that I have have learned from my mother, the love she has for her family, the commitment she has to my father and her unfailing love, trust and faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But there is one more, Contentment. Oh, I wish that we could all learn contentment.

Her life verse , which I pledge for my life is: Proverbs 30: 7-9

7 "Two things I ask of you, O LORD; do not refuse me before I die:
8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.
9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, 'Who is the LORD ?' Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. "

Mother, I cannot wait to see you at Church and share lunch with you.
I love you, love you more than Chocolate, Happy Mother's Day,

Little Climber......

Layton is learning to climb.......his face was turning red, he was grunting so.......

Guess he thought he might try it from behind,

He is so proud of himself, sorry, my new camera is giving me fits.......it is the user not the camera....lol

Oh yeah, he makes his LaLa, happy.
He says "ahhhhh, yaaaa", for LaLa right now....

Pondering .....

I thought about a good friend of mine, Betty, when I found this quote......thanks for a great lunch today....
We tried out a new restaurant, Fiore, located behind Lowe's..........Good Times to say the least.

"The greatest part of our happiness depends on our dispositions not our circumstances."
Martha Washington, (1789-97) wife of George Washington.

Cake Cutting for Dummies

Recipe for "The Very Best Vanilla Cake"

When serving a crowd, cut a circle in the center (place a small bowl on the cake and trace around it). Then cut the outer ring into slices. You'll have nice square pieces that fit on a plate, instead of long wedges that drop off the edge. You can cut the small round middle into pieces too!

And you thought you knew how to cut a cake.................I cannot believe I did not know this......

Pretty and Pink Piglet

OMG, when I saw this picture of one of my client's daughter's, I just had to ask if I could post it on my Blog.

This is Delaney Taylor. Her family raises and shows "PIGS".......... could there be anything cuter than this..hmmmm.
